I shall be going to this on Sunday 4th May (weather permitting). If anyone else is interested then I' m happy to meet up and go in convoy.

WE will be attending but i think we will be arriving from a diffrent direction. but it will be nice to see you there.

The weather forecast is looking good.
The only problem is, should I take a VW or the Porsche?

I' ll drive the porsche for you![;)]

SATURDAY:my husband is cleaning the car in the garage as it' s pissing with rain let' s hope tomorrow is better weather.

What a fantastic day!
The weather was superb (perhaps even too hot) and the turn out was incredible. Interestingly, each time I wandered past the Porsche club area the members hadn' t moved - is this because the Stanford hall organisers asked for a static display?

congrates to Steve Screaton and co for a truely great day and many thanks to Bev and Darell for the (sorry lost count of how many)glasses of wine.thats proberly why we weren' t moving much. thanks to my husband for staying sober and driving home.
looking foreward to next year.

we had a good wonder about the show especally the concours area and spoke to quite a few owners, had a look around the HUGE auto jumble (didn' t hold much interest for me)and found a old porsche speedster in a state of dis-repair in amunge the VW trade stands, couldn' t find the owner. tried to find a rude sticker to put on my boxster' s tiny pop up rear wing....it needs something to make it noticable!! then got thirsty so scuttled back to the safety of the gazebo' s

We did take the Porsche, but parked in the visitors car park - it is difficult to agree to leave the car in a static display when you have 2 small children. We had a lovely picnic by the car (no wine, unfortunately) and was a bit miffed that most of the food vendors had run out of cold drinks.

I also noticed there was an ' 88 911 Turbo in the Porsche area which appeared to be the same colour combination as our 3.2. Any idea who owns it?

Was this the first year that the Porsche club were invited to the VW event at Stanford Hall?

No the 914' s have been attending for quite a while.thay put on a really good display this sunday lots of diffrent colours and finishes.

[:-]shush! don' t let mr Ives hear you!

by the way Brian whats a Mexican VW" jeans Bug" or are we wondering into Brasilian swimwear again!

Good question.

VW Type 1, 1200cc - Hecho en Mexico.
The seats are covered in a heavy duty blue denim.
The original VW model it is based on was from 1974.

I could be wrong but I think there are only 3 like it in the UK.

I' m a bit of an anorak on Beetles.[8|]
