Star of the show ?

Oggy

New member
Went to Autosport International show yesterday at NEC, the new McLaren MP4 12C is just stunning, was for sure my "star of the show". I think I remember a couple of posts about this car last year however was first time I have ever seen one in the metal (or should that be "in the Carbon"). Question is....assuming you had the means (for WHEN I win the lottery)....one of these or 458 Italia [:)][:)] ??

I took the same shots [:)]

I don't know, I like the look of the Mclaren but still love the look of the 458
However not convinced I could own and use either as I do at the moment.. [&:]

Great pictures, I didn't manage to get to the show this year.

I too am looking forward to driving this car. I had all the paperwork from the wait list I was on but have got cold feet on an order as its £200k for a sensibly specced version so until you can touch and feel the car on the road apart from a speculator I am not sure. I have driven the 458 quite a lot since launch and it is stunning, simply a quantum leap from the 430, so currently I reckon this is the car to beat and I am not sure the McLaren will get there. The Ferrari has great build quality too this time round and when I was being followed by a 560-4 lambo and Audi v10, neither could keep up despite spirited driving so no doubt its very special.

I will get to drive the McLaren around April this year for a few days and then in July, so will feedback after that with a proper everyday road test.

These cars are all great but and that is it really, I keep going back and sticking with Porsche, hence the latest addition to the household, as seen on my avatar.

Very nice Doug but I think the "Superleggera" version in the bottom photo is a bit extreme.[:D]

lol ! Put a large wing on the back and great alternative to Atom V8 [:D]

My OPC sales friend says the hybrid Cayenne handles like a dog compared to the others in the range. I would assume putting hybrid equipment into a 911 would have an equally negative impact...

Is the 599 GTO too old now for shows? ie. no pics?

That is the only car on the market right now that I would call 'stunning' - and would be the very first thing I would spend said lottery money on!
