My ignition switch has decided to go the way of the pear! I was thinking about possibly replacing it with a big red starter button!
Has anyone else tried/ done this?
Hi lali
One question " Why"?

Hi lali
One question " Why"?
This is sort of what I was getting at with my flipant comments earlier.
The key was used to switch the ignition on and then i had an "on/Off" switch which really turned the ignition on and then I pushed a button to fire the engine. Switch the "on/Off" to OFF and the engine died.
As did I on my Westfield:-
The aircraft style flip cover switch was the ignition on/off switch. The big red switch on the left is the mandatory electrical kill switch. This was connected to an external pull wire in race trim.
You can get the aircraft switch with a two position switch which is spring loaded in its second position giving ingnition at point one and starter motor at the sping loaded point two. That might be pretty cool as an alternative to a push button? Would confuse people trying to start the car as well []

I've bought a load of new Moroso switchgear for my current Mk1 [8D]

Mmmmm nice! I bet they weren't cheap.
I like the way you retained the original rocker switches on your previous set up.

I must admit the old switches I used on the last car did a very good job but going all "flash" this time []
