Starter motor sounds

Just like to compare with everybody else..When I start up, my starter motor sounds like an old Ford. There is no problem starting but I just wondered if there is a more zingy/decent sounding starter to improve or not?
(sad I know!)

ha ha yes I am beginning to think they all do.
I posted this very same thread on here only a few weeks ago.
I have had two 944S2 now and both sound the same. They spin over quickly enough but sound like a washing machine full of nuts and bolts on a fast spin cycle. My old 86 Lux sounded fine ?
I think the later 944 has a completly differant type of starter (I haven't compared them) I think it is smaller and lighter in weight than the lux. Maybe somone can confirm this.

I've read the same lots of times so it seems very common, although I cant say noticed any difference between my two setups except that the S2 starter seems a little slower (and is far more senstive to the condition of the battery). I'm sure I read somewhere that there was a lighter starter on the 968CS, but don't know about the rest of the models.

My starter sounds like fire to a powreful beast that is being awoken from a deep sleep, quite a deep growl i am unsure if to run, hide or drive........."normally its the last one cos she dont scare me" as i have tamed the mighty beast........"all four wheels of the ground will pretty much do that for most cars porsches or otherwise".....

Got the noise spot on peanut[;)] Iam pleased that its not just mine that sounds like this
