Starter Motor

Hi all, I purchased an 03 plate cayenne S but recently there has been a strange grinding sort of noise on start up. It doesn't happen all the time but only sometimes and have been told it could be the starter motor. Does anyone know if this is a common fault and how much is it to replace?

Hi,

When you turn the key you just need to flick it, dont turn and hold until it starts as it has an electric starter, if you hold the key round until it starts you will get a noise like the starter is sticking.
