The title pretty much covers it... Im looking for a set of twenty steel wheel nuts with which to replace the OEM alloy parts. Can anyone, racers perhaps, point me in the right direction?

I'm confused ... the advert says "Black Aluminium Nuts, as seen in picture."

Picture shows silver nuts, with no clear indication of material (although they look more steel than aluminium to me.)

Oli.

It does say that in the adverts body, but I think it remains from a similar ad that was used as a template. The title refers to electro plated steel nuts and thats what the picture shows.

Steel wheel nuts on Alloy wheels does not sound like a good idea to me !

If you have a track / race car + are forever swapping wheels around, they are great, as the Porsche lightweight ones can strip the threads easyly...So they ARE great....[:D][:D][:D]
Ive had a set for a good 3 years....From the USA before anybody was doing them in the UK...+ when the £-$ rate was good...[:D][:D][:D]

Its a safety modification, as opposed to an aesthetic one. Alloy nuts are prohibited in many motorsport disciplines.

ORIGINAL: MSA Blue Book 'Speed' (I) Technical [54]
Nuts securing road wheels, except those of centre lock type, must be made of steel and have a thread contact over a minimum length of 1.5 of the bolt/stud diameters. Extended or composite bolts/studs are not allowed.

My car passed scrutineering on standard Porsche nuts all last year, but I am not going to risk it this year.

In the 'race' section, Im sure that they refer to exclusions for specific vehicles from periods A-D. Period A vehicles have a tiller and a man with a red flag, but Im not sure about D...
