Anyone got the castor / camber / etc. settings for Turbo SE?? I went to a tyre place this AM to get the car 'tracked' and according to their machine / specs mine is hugely out nearly everywhere but they didn't have a specific listing for the SE - we assumed that '944 turbo 90-93' must be the one - does that sound right for model years?? There was a '944 turbo 89-90' with completely different spec and as my car was registered in 90 and they want £120 for the job I'd like to be sure they get it right!!

Go to a porsche dealer they will charge £80 to do a full geometery check and adjust, dont pi55 about with dodgy tyre fitters who dont know there @rse form there elbow!!

Blimey that seems a good price Slim. Where were you quoted that?

Edited to add: Just reread your post and realise that is just a check. How much do they charge to then adjust it into spec?

If you have a copy of the handbook, the figures are in there (at least on my 90 car) - however I run seventeen inch wheels so have increased the castor (ther is a bulltin that reccomends this), I also run more negative camber than standard as I found I was wearing the outside of the front tyres (on standard settings) and the previous owner had had the rear set negative (and I had even tyre wear there).

PS Slim is still £80 if it needs adjusting and one of the adjusters is stuck?

It is worth coating all the relevant bolts with a penetrating oil (the rears are especially bad for siezing) before you take the car in, I also remove my engine undertrays as it is relatively easy to do, I can clean them up and it cuts down on the labour rate - My mums house does have an inspection pit in the garage which makes it easier though.

I found my local OPC very flexable. Obviously there is a line to be drawn but usually if they quoted me an hour and it took 1 1/2 then i would still onl ypay the hour. I was guessing at the £80, as i was quoted £60 for an alignment check and adjust, but i added in another £20 just to be safe. I havent had it done myself yet as i need the bushes done on thelower wishbones and apperently will need adjusted after it!! On the list for the summer, as the bushes aint that bad really.
