Steering Problems

All - Perhaps you can confirm if all Porsche Cayenne steer to the left. I took delivery of a new e-hybrid 4 month's ago and it constantly steers to the left. Its been back into the dealership 5 times for repair and now they say "its normal" I'd appreciate your views.

Hi Michael I have a Cayenne SE Hybrid and have done since March. I absolutely love the car whilst it may not be all things to all men, it does drive fantastic and handles great. It drives very straight and does not pull in any way other than like a train. Whereabouts do you live if anywhere near the North East you could come and try mine. I also see you are concerned about the fuel efficency, the figures that all vehicle manufacturers quote are done so under strict test conditions and would never be possible to you and I. The figures for the Hybrid is a combined figure so if you use electric only your fuel figures will increase dramatically. I have found mine has improved with time but realistically it will do around 35mpg. Hope this helps with your questions feel free to get in touch if you need anymore help.

Michael,

Don't let the dealership fob you off with the "it's normal sir" - it's not. Insist upon a full 4-wheel geometry measurement and set-up and if that still doesn't cure the problem you may still be able to reject the car as being unfit for purpose under the Sale of Goods Act since it's under 6-months old. That should get their attention.

something must be out of sync. and ought to be fairly obvious.
Pretty shabby treatment from the dealer for a car of this value
