Anybody recommend a supplier for a replacement steering shaft? Presuming this is the shaft on the steering column with the uj at the bottom. Mine has a lot of slack in it causing a clunk when i move the steering wheel. Euro Car Parts price them at £67.50 with free postage but wondering if there is anywhere better?

Cheers guys

If i remember right i had mine from porscheshop for about 70 quid, which is the going rate i think now.

I've just bought one for my S2, £63.42 + VAT. If you can get a discount then may be able to get it from an OPC for £70.

Part no is 945.347.027.00

Sorry for going all O/T, but being nosey I have to ask, Russell I've not heard of Polar White before, was this a special order colour or has it been resprayed that shade? From the pics it looks quite similar to Alpine White, but you can never really tell on a computer screen.

I am unsure to be totally honest, just quoting what the advert said when I bought the car.... can't find a paint code sticker on the car but judging by the looks of the other 1986 paint codes it may well actually be Alpine White

think the option sticker is behind where the spare wheel is in the boot, should be on there, or of you ring an opc they may be able to tell you through the chassis number what options it has/colour codes etc

Thanks Russell, I'm always on the lookout for different white shades hence why I asked. I think you're right, it probably is Alpine white, that certainly looks possible from the pics.

The steering shafts used to be about £120 from the OPC but they reduced their prices a few years ago. I'm sure I paid about £45 for mine three or so years ago from the OPC so it sounds like the prices have crept up again.
