steering squeak

hello I have steering wheel squeak when turning at low speed, like when parking , has anyone any idea whats wrong, oh I have Porsche boxster 986 2003 thanks

If they've not been replaced recently it's possible that the noise is coming from the strut top mounts (they dry out with time). As a temporary cure you could try squirting some washing-up liquid in the area to provide some lubrication. If that works then you'll know that they need replacing and if not then you'll need to look elsewhere; the steering and lower control arm joints most probably.

On my987.2 I have a very light creek squeak when turning the wheel at low speeded, about 20 degrees fron dead ahead.
It is the back of the steering wheel j u s t rubbing on the indicator stalk cover, plastic to plastic so very faint, but even my aged hearing can hear it...
just a thought anyway.
