steering...universal joint

Hello everyone,
I noticed when driving bad surfaces that threre is l little knocking "sound" that you actually do not hear but feel with you hands from the stearing wheel if I hold it not too tight. I would not really call it a free play... it's really just a little knocking motion that my hands feel only at low speeds (up to 35-40 mph) and only on bad roads...
The only potential issue I can think of is universal joint of the steering shaft... Did anyone ever have problems with those joints? Did anyone ever change them on 993? Any price indication?

Thanks a lot!

Thank you Giles,
I checked coilovers they look fine and the bushes were changed just 6K miles ago... I think I will just ask the guys to check the steering next time the car has regular check.
