Steering wheel adjustment

Hi all,

Removing the steering wheel and turning slightly to the left. I know there is a big nut in the middle that can be loosened then the wheel can be pulled back and then repositioned, but getting the airbag off....any ideas what has to go into the recesses at the back of the wheel to undo the screws?

Torx T30 but remember to either disconnect the battery a few hours beforehand or at least ensure no electrical activity thru ignition or courtesy lights for a while before you unclip the air bag trigger wire!

Agree with PeteB - disconnect battery and leave for at least 2 hours.

There is a procedure here, towards the end of the steering rack article but strangely it doesn't mention the wait recommended after disconnecting battery.

I think you would need three or four hands to undo the nut without disconnecting the cable to the airbag...

I would leave the steering wheel where it is and take it in to get a suspension geometry check. They should centre the steering wheel at the same time.
