Hi everyone,

Had a 944 S2 now for a few weeks and absoloutley loving it... The car came with an aftermarket steering wheel barchetta or the like, and i am looking into a standard item. The interior is 1/2 dark blue leather with the porsche logo and so the steering wheel should be blue leather? I have found an item on e-bay and bid on it. It seems really light blue, is there more than one type of blue leather wheel, or will this be ok??

item is

Thanks guys, Mark.

Yes there is one type of blue interior.

That one looks like the lighter brighter blue to my eyes

There's cobalt and there's marine blue. The changeover was for model year '91 (beginning September 1990 production), with cobalt being lighter and on the newer cars.

thanks guys, attached is a picture of the interior from my car, it is a 1990 model and so has the dark leather. the lighter wheel will look silly. woops. hopefully someone will outbid me.

thanks for the info. Mark.

I have the same interior, the steering wheels do come up fairly often, but it maybe worth phoning around some of the breakers. Douglas valley could be worth a call.

Anyone know what has happened to Fen? At the foot of his post it says he wants nothing more to do with PCGB.....

He had some sort of falling out with the PCGB people I think, but I don't pretend to know any of the details. I know a few emailed him asking him to reconsider, as his input was always valuable (I thought so, anyway) but it seems he has not.

Nearly new owner of a '44 turbo here.. (as readers of titanic will know). Can I be cheeky and ask what you will do with your current steering wheel and boss if you backgrade to the blue steering wheel? I may be interested in purchasing if you wish to sell!

Many Thanks!

I changed my steering wheel for a non standard one and feel that it gives it a more sportier updated look........I paid about £30 all inc new boss and sold my old worn one on ebay for £48 so a result all round me thinks![;)]
