Steering Wheel Recovering

I have a black '87 Carrera Targa and I'd like to get the steering wheel retrimmed as the leather is looking a little sad for itself ! can anyone recommend someone or somewhere that does this kind of repair. Thanks in advance TJC

TJC...Welcome to the forum, for interior trim, a well known independent trimmer is : Southbound Trimmers, who specialise in Porsche. (they advertise in PP)

They are based in Stockbridge, Hants...I cant tell if that is near you as your profile doesnt
show your location...would you intend to do this by mail? as I would of thought it would take more than one day to trim glue etc....

I have seen in Porsche World/911, some other companies that advertise a replacement kit to cover the wheel, where you can either undertake the work yourself or go to a local trimmer to have it done.

Let us know how you get on, I am keen to get this done over winter too. My first guess was to approach southbound, very well known in Porsche circles.

I approached a number of local trimmers but each said that the time to recover, >3 hours I recall, made the cost unacceptable to most clients.
I actually bought a recover kit from Type911 for £45 and did it myself over a number of evenings and after reading up on Pelican. This took many more than 3 hours, but I am truly pleased with the result.

Thanks, any chance of posting a pic?

I take it you dont need the car on daily basis then? I.e. steering wheel sat in living room, with you sewing in the eves.
