Steering Wheel Upgrade - Boxster Gen 2

Hi
My 2009 Boxster has the basic triangular based Steering Wheel, which I want to upgrade to the Sport version. The car is manual and does not have the any multi functional buttons. Basically Horn and Airbag.

Does anyone know if the upgraded Airbag Unit and the Horn will simply be plug and play, or will any coding be required?

Many Thanks.

Eddie

Yes, a 987.2 or 981 wheel with the round airbag will be plug & play. If you get a multi function steering wheel it will need coding for the controls to work. Round airbag wheels are fairly cheap on eBay, but the airbags themselves are expensive.

Many thanks, that's good news. Managed to source both the Sport Steering Wheel and Air Bag for £590, which doesn't seem too bad at all.

Regards

Eddie
