Hi All

I have the 3 spoke steering wheel which I need to remove. Can anyone advise on how to remove the horn pad. I have been told it just pulls off but I am sure I have read that you have to turn it to unlock. Can anyone help?

You did read that, but in reference to early 911. The horn pad on the three spoke wheel fitted to the 924 pulls off, but dont throw it over the back seat at the same time or you will take the horn connection with it. There is a 5 amp spade connector on the back of the pad. You will need the appropriate sized socket and as short an extension bar as you have got. For some reason these nuts can be quite tight. It's almost as if people dont want the steering wheel to come loose.

Before removing set the wheels straight ahead and line up the wheel with some kind of reference point. When refitting, drive around the block to check the position of the wheel before giving the nut the final tighten, because you may have to move it one spline either way.
