Could someone tell me how to remove the oblong horn push on my 944. Does it simply pull off or are there screws underneath maybe.
Also, it is necessary to disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing the wheel and boss? [&:]
 
It attaches with 3 snap fits but be careful, they break pretty easily. I always found it easier to grab either side and pull it towards you totally flat. The nut underneath is deeply recessed too, make sure you've got a long enough wrench adapter. Also leave the nut on a bit when you pull the wheel off its splines so you don't twat yourself in the face with the wheel! You're not going to kill yourself if you don't isolate the battery but it's best practice with anything mechanical. For the sake of 2 seconds with a 10mm spanner I would.
 
The above really. Removing the battery IMO is not necessary (I have not when I have removed wheels (bar wheels with airbags in of course!)) but it is possibly little safer.
