Steering Wheels

Melvin - FYI, I picked up a very nice wheel - the Momo Racing Line. It has Classic looks and not too expensive either. Definately in keeping with the " sporty" approach of the car you have ? - also, was delivered from the Porsche shop with a Porsche Steering wheel emblem as well

Thinking of changing my stock steering wheel to one of the Club Sport ones. Is it a simple job? Anyone happen to know what size socket is needed to undo the steering wheel nut?

quick tip (sorry if Im teaching my grandmother to suck eggs)

remove the nut, then put it back on a turn, then start yanking the steering wheel.. it will probably be a bit stuck, and if it is when it lets go of the splines it will only go as far as the back of the nut, not fly off causing you to smack yourself in the teeth with a steering wheel!.. []

Thanks for the tips and advice guys especially the one from smallspeed - which sounds very like someone speaking from painful experience?

speaking from hilarious experience; I watched a mate take 2 front teeth out when changing the steering wheel on his mini about 15yrs ago!.. At that point we decided the sensible thing was to leave the nut on a turn or two before heaving on the steering wheel!
Good luck

Just a thought check with Beau Roberts ( wrinkly ninja) he has just taken one off his Speedster that was only on for a matter of months. Now left the Speedster fold fosr a newer model and does not fit his new car. He mentioned he was going to put the wheel up for sale. If yours is a 964 would need new boss as not the same as 3.2
I fitted one to my Speedster and it does make a huge difference
Good Luck
Geoff
