I am replacing my speakers in the doors at the moment and cannot figure out how to remove the existing crossover behind the pocket. There are no screws to remove it nor does the cover come off to look inside.
has anyone done this before and how do I do it?

I await your expertise.

YOU COULD REMOVE THE FULL DOOR-CARD AND LOOK FROM THE INSIDE ........... OR YOU COULD FORGET ABOUT IT AND FIT YOUR OWN CROSSOVERS INSTEAD :)

The problem is that the crossover is fixed to the door so I can't get the door card off without removing the crossovers.
Was hoping to replace the speakers before I went to Nurburgring but time is running out.

My nearside crossover stopped working and I removed it to resolder the coils to the pcb.

You need to remove the door cards as the crossover is held in place by two screws which are inserted prior to the door card being installed onto the door.

Don't worry, removing the card is a whole lot easier than you may think.

Here's how you do it (from memory);

1) remove the top trim - open door and remove the small panel which is at the top of the door card where the door jam is (1 phillips screw). remove the small black cap which is about 1" in from the outer edge of the door and remove the screw. Then lift from the door handel end to pop it over the lock button (unplug the lock coil)

2) remove the door pocket. It's held on by 5 screws around the outer edges and one screw inside the pocket holding it to the door handle assembly. you need to lower it to get past a notch (in the handle assembly) before it will pull away.

2) remove the two phillips screws that hold the mid section and door pocket lid secure. the first screw is below the outer side of the lid and another one is under the bottom edge of the handel.

3) remove the 4 allen key bolts that hold the handel on.

4) prise the cap off the center of the lock turn knob and undo the screw and pull the knob off.

5) the lock knob's backing panel comes off by unscrewing it by spinning it anti-clockwise.

6) pull the door handel open and you will see a metal rod that comes out of the door and clips into a plactic cap in the handle. Push the rod upwards and it will pop out of the clip.

7) you are now ready to pull the panel off, start from the door jam end where there are two push clips (just slid your fingers between the panel and the door moving towards the clip). there is only one remaining clip which is 2/3rd the way up the opening edge of the door.

8) unplug the window switch and the speaker wire and robert's your mother uncle.

9) turn the panel around and there will be the two screws that hold the cross overs in place.
