Stereo Staying on

Re: 986 Boxster - Tonight was the second time the stereo has stayed on, after taking the ignition keys out. I have to disconnect the battery for a few seconds, to resolve the issue. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks

I had the same problem on my C4S 996. I had to replace the amplifier. Costly but fortunately had it under warranty.

Instead of disconnecting the battery, find out what fuse it is and pull it - a bit quicker and easier.

Is the battery old/worn? Sometime stray electrical glitches as these things get near end of life, otherwise as above its most likely an electrical gremlin in head unit or amplifier and could be expensive to narrow down - I'd be tempted to wire a little switch into the fuse panel that lets you quickly switch it off if happening often - you could do it with one of the fuse piggy-back connectors and it would be completely removable/reversible.

Have a look on http://www.bergvillfx.com. Send Torre an e-mail if you can't find an answer on his website. He sorted the climate control unit on my 993 for around a tenth of the price of a new unit and gives a five year warranty.
