stereo update wanted

Hi All
I'm wanting to update the head unit (stereo) in my 996, I'm told I can't just fit any old double din unit.
What are my options?

The problem used to be that the amplifier has fibre optic inputs rather than wired connections. However, there are now a couple of options.

You can get an interface which converts the line outputs from a new head unit to fibre optic inputs to the amp. It is made by Connects2. An alternative is to look at the Dynavin head unit, which has fibre optic outputs. They do a model specifically for Porsche. I understand it is cheapest to buy them direct from Dynavin (in Germany IIRC).
