Sticky Clutch Pedal

Not long back from a 2000 mile jaunt around France, lots of tunnels to enjoy PSE. ABS light has started coming on intermittently and clutch pedal stuck to floor a couple of times when engine cold (in hot weather). It came up of its own accord, with a little help from my foot, slightly disconcerting but no clutch slip. Clutch thing hasn't happened since and ABS light still intermittent. Any clues/ideas before I head off to OPC?
Suggestions appreciated.

Well the clutch is hydraulic and uses the brake fluid resevoir for fluid but that is the only link between the clutch and brake system. There is a possibility that there is a leak somewhere and the pressure drop is being sensed by the ABS system. This would also cause the clutch pedal to stay down if significant, this happens when you bleed the clutch (you have to slowly pull the pedal up by hand).

Have a look at your brake fluid level - if low, then that could be your problem. If you know where it is, (right hand side of the transmission, high into the transmission tunnel if your facing the rear of the car) then check the clutch bleed nipple for leakage.

I hope this helps...

Thanks Richard - fluids all fine, interesting to know the brake/clutch reservoir is shared, I didn't know that. Will let you know what the outcome is.
