Sticky Stuff !!

Just a bit of fun, but I reckon the labels Porsche use for the ident stickers on their spares has the stickiest glue known to man on them. I usually use a drop of white spirit to remove them but they are still a b****r to clean off !!!

It's probably because they've been sitting on a shelf for 10 years and the glue's started to metamorphosise. I recently had to get a replacement wheel but wasn't happy with the finish on the one Porsche sent. After lots of toing and froing I was eventually told by Porsche GB that they were using up old stock and new cup 2 wheels hadn't been produced for about 10 years and they couldn't provide one with a better finish.

That's a little worrying. Does that mean that spares are now going to start to become more difficult to get. I suppose there will come a time when Porsche will run out and we will all have to resort to autojumbles for for of our bits.

Iffy secondhand parts from autojumbles or poorly fitting re-manufactured parts. Hmmm doesn't look too good. At least until I think about the number of parts I've had to replace in 65,000 miles and eight years of ownership. I reckon new parts will be on the shelves for a good few years to come [:)].
