Sticky throttle weirdness

Did an oil change today and whilst running the engine I accidentally blipped it up over 6k (intention was to not go over 4K). Oiled the cable and throttle links down at the throttle body but it seems the problem is that the pedal is sticking down a bit when pushed down to WOT. Its fine pushed down to no more then 50% open. Surely the links behind the pedal aren't at fault? what is the collective experience of the 944 massive on this one?

The 'jacking point' just behind the front wheel has been used to bear weight & it's bent the floor panel, it's a common problem.

If you can, try pushing down on the floor panel by the pedal base with one hand while moving the pedal through the tight point with the other - you may be able to feel the tightness go as you push down on the floor.

If so put a wooden block in the footwell close to the base of the throttle pedal & belt it (technical term) with a mallet to straighten it, YMMV.

However if it still sticks then check the aperture where the cable passes through from the footwell and into the engine bay. Occasionally this frays and the cable can snag.

It's probbaly the bent floor though - get the mallet out
 
... and if you have just bought the car, jacked it up to change the oil, bend the floor and end up thumping the floor as hard as you can with a mallet in the first day of ownership, expect a few odd looks from the neighbours.

(Don't ask me how I know this.)

Cheers guys, I would never have guessed that one totally weird, especially since for the last 5 years the front of the car has only ever been supported either from the caster eccentric mount or the jack plate thing. Maybe it has been sat around to much recently.
