Now the cold weather is back, a problem i'd forgotten about is back. Does anybody have any idea how I stop my ignition becoming very stiff in the cold? Last year I sprayed all manor of lubricants in the barrel but nothing made any difference.

Thanks, Andrew.

Noticed mine was a bit stiffer (oh er!) this morning. But it was minus 5 at my house. Can't say I've ever noticed that before although somewhat comforting that it wasn't exclusive to me! I will monitor during the cold weather.

its the old grease in the moving parts, stiffens up in the cold, (I know how it feels) other things are the indicators stop working or wont self cancel, the door locks get really stiff,

I would pump some GT85 into the lock, melt and plasticise the grease a bit

Yep as Martin said I get this on my drivers door lock every year, I spray it with GT85 let it soak over night and the following morning the lock lever pings back on its own again instead of getting stuck in when I open it.

Normally graphite powder is recommended for locks ,particularly the tumblers-just scrape a soft pencil with a Stanley knife until U have adecent amount of powder & blow it into the lock.
Gt85 however is brilliant general freeing up duties
