Stiffening up a cab?

Hi guys, I'm new on here and have spent a good few hours looking around this great forum and have now sorted a couple of niggling problems on my '89 944 S2 cab using info from various threads. I am now thinking about fitting a top strut brace to help reduce the scuttle shake and was wondering if there is a "standard" sequence of proven upgrades to help stiffen up the whole handling experience? Any ideas or pointers? What are the options for a top strut brace, which are best...

You cant stop a cabriolet from flexing by using any amount of suspension braces. You can tighten up the front with a top brace and a wishbone brace, but the scuttle shake is due to the front and rear suspension not being adequately tied together. Its possible that the better the suspension mounts bracing (especially if its tied to the bulkhead) then the more pronounced the scuttle shake will be.

I fitted one on mine shortly after i bought my cab and to be honest i didn't notice a great deal of difference - think i bought it from Promax if i remember rightly.

The only way to stop a cab twisting is to weld the doors shut and fit a roll cage, anything else is an expensive waste of time.

Its like a cardboard box with two huge slots cut out of each side, how can that be made rigid?

Not wanting to sound "flippant" but the best way to eredicate scuttle shake is to put a roof on it....[;)][:D]
I had a 968 cab for some 4 years + it always had a certain amount of shake, even after the usual bracing etc....
You drive a cabrio , you should expect some shaking... It goes with the teritory...Sorry...

Thanks for the quick replies everyone I have other performance cars with roofs on and also other soft tops so I do understand the dynamics here!! I was just wondering if there was any easily achievable improvements to be had, it sounds not! I'll take a look at what Flash has done on the 968 forum and in the meantime continue to shake, rattle and roll. Thanks again for the responses.
