Have not really had chance to use my car much this year. So decided to take last Friday off work and just go for a drive...no specific plan...just drive and see where I ended up.

Home->Settle->Hawes->Kirkby Stephen->Kendal (OPC..nice coffee, look at new shiny things)->A6 Shap [8D] -> Haweswater (ooops..dead end...need a better sat-nav !) ->Ullswater -> Kirkstone pass -> Return

220 miles, one full tank of super unleaded and 3hrs required to clean it afterwards !

Having owned this car for 2.5 yrs now (and it being nearly 6yrs old), it still manages to put a huge grin on my face every time I drive it [:)][:)]

Still loving it and intend to keep it for many years yet*

*unless I win the lottery that is [;)]

Hi Doug,

glad to see and hear evidence of similar joy. Work is demanding but the TT just pulls out all of the stops all of the time. The car is a legend already and despite more comfort and technical improvements I find it hard to justify a switch to a newer version. I have some ideas though of changing a couple of items on the car now that I have gotten to know it much better. The list is getting longer and will be divided into must/nice to have and also hard/medium/easy to do with normal fiscal constraints. A high priority item is the exhaust and I saw different tips (or even exhaust) on yours - could you share what is behind the bumper? I am thinking Akrapovic would be great but also know 1/2 price solutions are available as well leaving spare cash for other items on the short and long list.

Regards,
Max

It's great to see a 997 in that state, completely shows its being used to its best [:D]
I have a bug for a new motor but eveytime I drive this one it still amazes me what fun it is- in all conditions..

Ditto on new cars..luckily 991 prices so high I won't have to spend another 3 months convincing my wife I am only loaning some money to Porsche whilst I drive a nice new car!

Hi Max,

Just tips unfortunately (Design 911). Don't affect warranty but don't sound any different either [:(]

I also fancy a sports exhaust and the Akropovic system would be top of my list !

Cheers,

Nice to see that car in that mucky state Doug. It will take no harm at all.

Next time come by the Fylde coast area and I'll make you a brew! Provided I am not at work of course.

I use mine every day and each and every mile it feels so good. It get filthy each week and I just love to get it clean again, sometimes twice in a week! It comes up like new and gets so many admiring glances and positive comment.

Thanks Doug - will keep you posted on what I decide. My warranty is still good until November but I am filling up the fund to execute first on the exhaust.

Max
