Putting aside problems with the weather in previous years.

The organisers have again assigned us some space at this years event (and a plan B in case of emergencies) and are chomping at the bit in egerness to have forms filled in and completed by anyone who is interested in giving there pride and joy a splash of TLC and parking it in an informal display for the admiration of many passers by.

A few people have already volunteered to attend on either the Saturday/Sunday or both days and I am getting confirmation of who the list includes.

For anyone who hasn't registered to go, but is perhaps interested, I will be posting more details and a copy of the entry form within the next 24 hours.

By all means add your name and car details to this forum link and we can get the paperwork sorted out. If you know someone who might like to go but does not have access to internet or the PCGB forum then let them know, pass on the details and then contact me for further informaiton.

I'll post an update as soon as I can. So hold your breath for good weather, order your Zymol and start sending in your names.

Now that the email notification is back up and that i've finally received the forms from SG, here's the latest.

There's only a few weeks before the event which is taking place during the weekend of 10th/11th May. A few people have already sent in application forms but I need to work hard now to bring up the numbers.

If anyone would like to give their Porsche a bit of spit and polish or better still water and zymol and then spend a free day out at the Stoke Goldington Steam Rally, while allowing rally visitors to admire the collection of cars from the quality German stable then let me know!

Email me, telephone me or add your details to the forum here and i'll be in touch.

More details can be found here : http://www.crazyspeak.co.uk/pcgb/stokeg2008.shtml
along with the application form and current list of PCGB volunteers.

I have the Regional Gazebo if you need it - though I didn't pack it away last time and haven't checked the contents [8|].

I might be able to do the Sunday - need to check what "taxi" duties I have at home! What time do we need to be there and stay until?

Super. If it's the original regional gazebo then that's great as it fits in the Box' however if it's the new one that only fits in the KN then I'll have to arrange for the Volvo to be available.

Anyway, the normal guidelines are that cars should be in place by 9:30 (ish) so that visitors arriving from 10:00 will not be at risk from moving vehicles. You'll already have spotted the contradiction as there are steam engines continuously moving around the event.[:)]

Leaving time, again, preferred but not imposed with an iron fist is about 5:00pm.

So we'll say 10 - 4:30 is the main slot, but as people have other commitments and some have a distance to drive, we will accept that these times could be adhered to a little loosely.

Progress is being made and the volunteer list is starting to grow.

There is still plenty of room for more cars on either Saturday or Sunday and the long range weather forcast suggests moderate temperatures, a light breeze and 0.0mm of rain.

Book up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
