Yesterday a Black Porsche Boxster S was stolen with keys from a mate's drive, if you get offered any Boxster parts or the car please let me know.

Walked straight into his house and took the keys while he was in the shower. He lives in a nice area and it was 5 in the afternoon so didnt have the front door locked.

So please keep an eye open for Boxster parts, and your front doors locked!

Basic security front door locked always .This is the second one in the last few weeks. The last guy, they broke in at night he had a alarm system but,he never set it at night. If he had the alarm on, it would have gone off and 9 time's out of ten they run off.
It's the basis, that let people down in security, most people get a alarm after they had been broken into.

It's what I do for a living now a security consultant, for homes and company's etc.

Anyone need help let me know.

Well its easy to say after it happens to lock your doors etc..

The police have found the car and all sounds well, he should get it back tomorrow.

Sorry, but do people not lock their car doors basic security , people should lock their doors at home times have changed.

People think your home, is your safe zone it is not then they get caught out.
The days of your key, on a piece of string by the letter box have gone.

If the door had only been locked. they would not have just walked in the house.

Good that the police found it - how? Tracking device?, ANPR? or good old fashioned hunch and investigation?

given we recently had our number plates stolen and they were on a car parked outside the police station for 6 tickets (before the council took it away) i'm guessing tracker.....!

Usually the forcible and violent condition is only applicable when the premises are unoccupied, although I do agree in this day and age there is an increasing number of walk in thefts and it is always good practice to lock the doors at all times.

Police found the car with good old fashioned investigation. Apparently 3 other Boxsters have gone in the same area over the last month some with force!! So it dosent matter if you lock you doors, if some scum want it they will take it. What would you prefer, your face smashing in or some one taking your keys when your back is turned??
My mate leaves the door open as he has two dogs so they have free run off the garden. So I guess you have to strike a balance between security and freedom for this dogs(the dogs were in when they took the car).

It has put him off Boxsters, he only had the car 2 weeks. He said he is going back to TVR's as scum dont know how to get in them.[:D]

You wonder why, the car was stolen because it was a easy target.
Anyone can open a door that is not locked. Why not just put a advert, in the local paper then. Tell the world my doors, are never locked my keys are in the house.

That is what is wrong with people today.

Still my car is safe, and locked up as is my house, and my home alarm.
What you have you should protect.

Well if you don't want to sit in a locked fortress at least make sure you don't leave the keys in a place where they are easily seen - at least put them in a drawer or a cupboard. Then again its not that many montha ago that someone on here had their car taken by assaulting their wife on their driveway. Sometimes its better for your own safety to not be too protective !

I can't believe the difference between forums on here. You put a post up to try and see if you can help a mate out with a car that's been stolen and to worn other Boxster owners that the police said about a few of them going missing. Then all you get is a big rant from a plank who doesn't know you.

If your talking about what is wrong with people today you epitomise it.

Was there any need for the plank commemt was I RUDE to anyone here no.Each to there own, at the end of the day . I was just saying people in general how things have changed these days.
Your comment just shows how things have changed (PLANK) and people
Why go on a personal attack on me?.
Do you know me, no but you feel free to post your reply about me.

The end

Yes you are right, it's the basic's people get caught out on.Which is what I was saying. You can have security without going OTT.

As with most posts on PCGB they are here to help people. Not one thing you have said has been of help, its just patronising. If you don't have anything useful to say then don't say it.

I have driven many TVR's and they have some of the best security systems:
1) Can't find the door handles
2) Probably still not start if you do have the key
3) If you did start it you would wake every person in a 5 mile radius with the noise.
4) It will run out of fuel by the time it has gone 5 miles down the road.
5) It might just set on fire.
