Well , they caught the guy. It turns out he was a fellow Rennlister. Scumbag!

You can read the developments (through the bravado) here: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=247509

I suppose it's only a matter of time unitl someone on Rennlist claims their car was abducted by aliens.

Well, to be serious, most of the time this place, boxa.net and Porsche-1, etc. seem fairly laid back. Ok they vary a bit but there is less of the aggression and chest thumping I saw on that thread. Thankfully.

Certainly while the chest thumping and BS is OTT (what a surprise), it does point out the pitfalls of being too open on a forum.

It does and it doesn't. Rolex made a big deal about his car on a forum and it is now quite literally famous globally among those of us who appreciate such things. I so doing some scumbag's ears pricked up and he located the car and took it. Had it got to the stage where he was selling parts from it, or if his 968 ever saw the light of day with parts on it, however, he may very well have been spotted due to the forum exposure.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]My soap opera comment was more directed at the finger pointing at Ted and the saga of NZ951 than the actual stolen car story, but I would like to think that if one of us lost a car in similar circumstances we would do the same, possibly minus the death threats.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
