Stone Chip & Scratch

Well my almost immaculate body work was ruined by a large stone hitting just below the windscreen wipers and then onto the bonnet, leaving a 6mm x 6mm chip below the wipers and 8mm x 2mm scratch in the bonnet [:(]

Chips Away say they can't do anything about the scratch in the bonnet but can do the chip for £80+vat

Any ideas who could without repainting the bonnet ?

Thanks

Mark

I wonder why they don't want to do the bonnet?? If it's JUST a scratch (and not a dent) I'm surprised. If there is a dent, however, Chips Away have no facilities to straighten it. There ARE lots of Paintless Dent Removal people around who generally can, but the bonnet can be difficult since there are strengthening ribs under the skin which form sealed double skinned areas where it can be difficult or impossible to get underneath. Ask me how I know!! I've got a couple at the front of my bonnet that nobody can get to.

If it IS just a scratch I'd be tempted to find another franchisee (or CarMedic or PaintTeknic) to have a look.

Regards

Dave

Chips Away have a policy that they don't do top flat surfaces such as bonnets as it is near impossible to achieve a good spot blend where light reflects the most. They will, however, do just about any other surface area. I actually think this is a good policy of theirs lest too many disgruntled customers complain.
