Stone Chips

Two DIY alternatives to the touch-up pen: [link=http://www.langka.com/]http://www.langka.com/[/link] and the one I have used: [link=http://www.drcolorchip.com/]http://www.drcolorchip.com/[/link] Both are simple to use and give better touch-up results and I know the last one ships to the UK.

Just wondered how best to deal with stone chips. I have acquired a big one on the bonnet of my car which is Arctic Silver.

I am hopeless with the Porsche touch up brush but have read that some members use the Chipex system, some buy tiny artists brushes to aid paint application while others simply ignore them. I would love to do the latter but my OCD won't allow it.

What's the best method? Any advice appreciated.

Stephen

The advantage of the Langka system is that you can be ham fisted with the brush and get excellent results. You can also use it for different colours, using normal touch up paints from the manufacturers. I ran a thread a while ago that may be of interest. Hope this helps. http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=541529&mpage=1&key=langka&#541529

I bought a Dr.Colorchip pack for my Arctic Silver 997 a year ago after I got a load of stone chips, but my local OPC touched them up for me at no cost, so I still have the pack. It is opened but unused. If you're interested, send me a PM.

Thanks very much for the advice and offer but I have ordered the Chipex kit and will let you know how I get on. Stephen
