stoneguard

I'm sure there has been a post about this before, please accept my apologies as I can't find it.

The stone guard at the bottom of the front wings, what is it called and where can I get some. I recall it is Wurth or 3M but have been on both of their websites and can't find it.

I assume it comes in a strip and you just cut it to size. Is it easy to fit yourself and paint over for a temporary repair, or is it likely to look a mess?

If you mean the curved plastic strip that tapers up the wheel arch they are a 3M product available from Kieth at restige Parts in Plymouth.
If you mean the textured finish that runs along the length of the car over the wing & sills that is made by Wurth & is sprayed on, I don't know where to get it from though.

thanks

I was meaning the textured finish that is at the bottom of the wing and runs the length of the sills

I didn't know it was sprayed on - I always thought it was stuck on as a strip. Has anyone had a go at doing this themselves - is it easy?

It's made by Wurth and is called SKS stoneguard.

I'll be redoing my sills and the bottom of the nearside wheel arch over the Easter Hols. I'll let you know how I get on

Alpine,
It's pretty easy to apply once you've got the right spray applicator. You can buy a tube of the stone gaurd paint at most auto paint stores and it screws up onto the applicator gun ( it's quite basic really, just a simple type spray gun that has a long barrel )

Clean and mask off the sills and spray on...simple! It goe's on black and will leave a perfect factory finish, you simply repaint to your desired colour when dry.

I think you can also buy it in aerosol form but the finish is not as good as the tube/gun application...

Best of luck with it!

John Daly.
