The Stony Stratford Classic is on 1st January 2013 - a great start to the petrol head year!
(er, if you haven't been out drinking wobbly liquid to the early hours of New Year, of course[&:].)

See: www.vintagestony.co.uk for more info.

See you there.[:D]

Great start to the new year (assuming the world doesn't end on the 21st December 2012) highly recommended.

Thoroughly recommend this to anyone who likes to see vintage cars as well as the more modern classics - they get some really unique bits of kit along there, no matter what the weather! [:)] The pub does decent food too - including bacon rolls first thing to keep you warm.

Good opportunity to display your Porsches too.

Nothing like being positive about the future, John[:)]. Will see you there (if not, I'll make sure I get a good drive in before[:D]).

Hi Paul, Last year we drove on the "Export 56" organised "First Run Rally" and part of the route took us through Stony Stratford, past the display of cars and they looked great. We have heard nothing about any rally for Jan 1st 2013, so will join you at Stony Stratford. Thanks for the info.

Paul,

Not my idea, its the Mayan calendar prediction, some people are holding 'End of the World' parties on the 21st.

I'm surprised you didn't organise a final drive out party for R10!

I knew there was a premise for your comment, of course. Let's just say our civilisation is bound to find it's own way of destroying itself[:(].
Hopefully many more Stony events to come[:D].

Assuming the weather is not hideous I'm going to get along to this.

The website implies it starts at around 10.30am - those who have been before, do you normally get there earlier?

Peter,

By 10:30 all of the cars are parked in allocated areas so it becomes a static display. Its worth arriving earlier to hear some of the more interesting cars but you end up having to go round a few times to see what you have missed.

We usually get there about 9:30 have a quick look round then go to the pub for breakfast before looking again. Best not to arrive to late as some cars start to leave at about 2.

OK thanks John

Great to see you all again at Stony.
Very chilly, but well worth it - what a lovely day and marvellous turnout[;)]

Good to see a few of you today. Had to leave early as I had visitors from Indonesia with me who found it a bit cold.

Amazing turn out of cars, although a bit lacking on the Porsche front.
