Hi

My car has been stood for about 4 months and now it want start whats the procedure to get it running again

Battery is fully charged and the engine spins but want fire new fuel in tank

cheers

Check for spark, check the fuel rail to ensure that fuel is actually getting to the injectors.

The problem could be any one of a number of things, hence you need to be methodical in troubleshooting.

Oli.

This isnt uncommon in early 944s. Ive had it twice in my track car and now in my 924S. The first port of call has to be the fuel filter.

I know four months isn't a long time but the petrol may have gone 'stale'. Try and get some fresh petrol into the system.

Cheers,

im not with the car till Saturday but i did notice quite a large diameter wire had come away from the positive side of the battery there are about three wires that are connected to the positive terminal along with the starter motor one so i think im going to fix that side of it first

does anyone know what the wires may be for do they supply feeds to the fuse box as i suspect that they do

cheers

Mine didn't start after being left for a long time (although nearly several years is a bit longer than 4 months) as the fuel pump was seized. You should be able to hear it going when you try to start the engine, if not do the old jumper trick as described somewhere on clarks garage so run it separately from the engine and you should hear it if it's doing anything then.

Other than that I'd definitely look into that wire, sounds like the main power feed for the engine (could be wrong though).

ok will do

yes the wire is definitely top of the list for now it just needs a clean and a new crimp putting on hope that's all it is

cheers
