Strange goings on with horn....car horn that is

Ok so wondering if anyone can help me with the strangest issue ive ever had with a car.

Parked car up at home last night, gave it a well deserved wash as it was filthy after being left at airport for few days.

This morning I was working away in the garage and heard a strange noice coming from the car, which sounded like a blocked horn
after about 10 mins of this the horn cleared and has now been on constantly (bear in mind there was no ignition on and car hadnt even been opened)

I checked online to see what the relevant fuses may be, and tried each one to see if it would stop. No joy

Only way ive got it to stop is by disconnecting the battery, everytime i reconnect it starts again.

It does only seem to be the low pitched horn as when i press the horn in the car the higher pitched one still works as it should.

Job for tomorrow is to take off bumper and remove the horns see whats going on.

At this point im assuming its an electrical issue somehow been caused when ive been washing it

Just wondered if anyone else has seen or heard of this happening and how they fixed it..

Cheers for any help you can give,

Brian

Update for the day:

Seems ive somehow developed a permanent live going to one of the two horns.

Short term solution was to disconnect the horn with the permanent live.

Everything else seems fine, still like to get to the bottom of the issue though.

It was quite wet about the front drainage holes however they didnt seem to be blocked or any wiring near the water.

Will keep you posted :)

The low and high tone horns have separate supply wires from the front control module, so I suspect it is the control module which has failed, or possibly a wiring problem.

Cheers for the input Richard,

We did find it was two separate supplies so just disconnected the constant live for the time being.

Need to trace it back to the control module see if it stops there or continues beyond there.

Very strange how it just happened all of a sudden though.

Thanks again for your reply

Cheers,

Brian
