Strange noise coming from engine bay!

I've recently noticed a strange noise coming from the engine bay. It started about a month ago with a squeeking sound a bit like a belt was loose or slack. Then recently it has started making a rubbing sound like to bits of metal are rubbing together. When the engine is idling it comes and goes but the noise is more frequent now. The noise also increases with engine speed. I'm pretty confident it is not internal engine noise more like something on the outside which is running with engine speed like the belt or runners which spin round. The poly belt was replaced last year with a major service so not sure what it could be. I am booking it in to a porsche specialist to get it looked at but was wandering if anyone has any ideas. It is quite a difficult problem to explain in writing.

I think you've done the right thing and have a pro look at it.

I haven't had the chance to take the car in to a garage due to being busy moving house. I noticed on this website http://www.renntech.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t13697.html

that someone has a similar problem to me. They have taken a video of the sound that their boxster is making on that page and it sounds very similar to mine. The person found out that it was due to a loose spark plug. The sound coming from my engine is like that squeeking sound. I've never attempted to access the engine in my 2.5. Is it easy and how do you get to the spark plugs or do you need to take it in to a garage.
