Strange noise from Air Con

Now the summer is upon us more use of the Air Con is order, problem is can anyone shed any light on the strange noise I get when switching the car off. I can only explain that it sounds like a pressure relief value going off, only for a short 5/10 seconds. I know its related to the air con as is does not do it when its switched off!!
