Strange Noise from Aircon

There's a strange whirring noise coming from the aircon. It seems to vary with engine revs (increases as revs increase). Having played around with the panel, it only happens with the aircon selected "On". My feeling is that there is something rubbing. A bearing in the compressor perhaps? Any clues and will it be expensive as I'm moving house soon, which as you probably know, isn't the cheapest of activities!!
 
You are probably right there John. The pump is disengaged when the aircon is off, so it is likely to be a problem in the pump, or possibly the electric clutch is slipping/noisy when engaged. I don't know if they can be refurbished, but the worst case is a new aircon pump, and they are about £700 + vat + fitting + gas +++++++....

Can you put off the move? [&o][&o]
 
Might have to!!! At the very least, the front grill mesh and sports exhaust conversion will have to wait!! [:mad:]

Anyone know next weeks lottery numbers?

Just noticed Porsch-Apart do a new 996 A/C pump for £295+vat. May be worth a punt......
