Strange noise on start up.......

For the past few weeks 'm getting a weird noise on start up.

It s not the rumble that I believe is pretty common. Its more a a metallic squeak.

The car goes ok, just worried I may be doing it damage by not getting it looked at

Dont know if its anything to worry about. Anyone else out got or had a similar problem.

Morning!
If it's a squeak that fades over the course of a few minutes, I'd say it's one of the Ancilliary Drive Belt Tensioners. Normally this isn't a problem, but if you're due a Poly Belt change it's woth mentioning to whoever does the job to ensure they're checked (well, they should check the whole drive system anyway)
Whatever you do, don't be tempted to spray WD40 or similar on any of the pulleys as this has an adverse wear effect on the belt. If the noise stops as the engine warms, you should be fine.

I've had this issue, it didn't go away after a few minutes though but I think it's a good diagnosis as it is a metallic squeak. Porsche wanted to charge me around £600 to replace the parts.
