Who makes and stocks a good strut brace to fit a 86 2.5 lux ?
Which metal is best to go for, alloy, s/steel or steel ?
Does it tighten the front end up ?

Yes it does help to tighten up the front end.
And you might just be in luck.
Ill PM you.....[;)][;)]

I have the KLA and can recommend it as it's very good value for money. It's nicely made from aluminium and makes a big difference in my experience -it definately tightens the front end up. I got mine form Simon of S.A.R Classics (formerly ESS), he's on 01438 833605.

>>>Edited to add, but probably best to ignore me and speak to Dave [:D]

I had a brace on order from Simon but it was taking ages to come through despite having paid for it. At the same time I had bought some replica Fuchs from him that were delivered to Bob Watson where my car was at the time. Bob said the replicas were all wrong so I insisted Simon had them back and cancelled my order for the brace.

I bought the KLA one direct from KLA in the states via their website - that was last year though when we had an reasonable exchange rate....[8|].

I'd be lying if I said I had noticed a huge difference although as i have made loads of changes to the front suspension (springs etc) and geometry, it would be impossible to single out the brace's contribution to the general improvement.

Nicely made for the money though[:D]

Sorry to hear that. When I visited him a little while back he was checking and packing up a load of braces (at least that's what they looked like) so I guess he must have to get them in quite large batches to make it cost effective. For what it's worth I've only had good products and service from Simon.

Whilst the KLA version is a reasonably good one, I had one on a 968 once,. I think its a bit "flimsy" . Thats why i got myself a Brey Krause one. Now that is anythink but "flimsy"...
Oh did i mention its for sale.,.,.....[;)][:D]

My car is an 86 model 944 lux, does one model brace fit a 944 lux, 944 turbo or 968 ?
What is your best price Dave ?
