Sudden lumpy idle rectified with finger!!!!

Hi All
Just been out in the car for a quick spin last night, giving it the usual hard stab on the go juice pedal. all fine until stopped at mates and car was idling really slowly and a funny hiss coming from under the bonnet.
On getting home found if I plugged my finger on a hole next to the manifold where the throttle cable attaches, to the left of the throttle cable and where it attaches between manifold and black rubber pipe work, looks like metal tube sticking up out of the metal work (see link below to see what I mean, sorry not very mechanically minded, so do not know it's name!!![8|])

It looks like from Cannell's picture there is a screw thread in the forementioned part???
Could this have blown out or more importantly sucked in???
Any help or suggestions gratefully received, or if anyone has had the same happen please let me know.
Cheers
Lee

You've lost your idle adjustment screw. I've heard of it happening before. It's come out, not gone in.

Thanks Fen, was panicing on way home thinking what has gone wrong now!!!

Will order one up now.

Cheers

You'll probably have a nice oil splatter pattern on the inside of your bonnet too [:D]

Mine went last year, Duck tape over the hole provides a temporary fix and the OPC supplied a new one for £1.75

Paul, was it easy to reset idle after you replaced the idle screw.
By the way prices seem to have gone up £4.50 plus for the screw from OPC []
Cheers

I just screwed it in several turns at the dealer, meaning to look up how to adjust it properly on Clarks garage when I got home. Luckily I must have got it spot on and never gave it another thought [&:]

£4.50 - I wish I'd bought 10 now. Ebay here I come
