Summer driving

Now that it is actually warm enough to drive top down without the need for hat and flying jacket what are you doing about locking car and setting climate control?

I've just read the book and it seems that the interior sensor for the alarm is switched off when hood is down so it's OK to lock with the remote without all hell breaking loose as people walk by or the wind blows. This is for when you just pop into a shop or park at a pub while you sit outside etc, not in the local multi-story[&:]. Up until now I just removed the keys.

Question 2 is as happened today it was 26.5c outside air temp and even with the climate control at 22c it was producing air-con cooled air. I turned the fan off as having the air-con on with the hood open seemed ridiculous but having read the instruction book it seems that switching the Eco button stops the air-con compressor.
What do you do?

Hit the Eco Switch .. or if its really hot and its a slow drive leave the AC on and direct the air down into the footwells

Parking

Short term in a safe, seagull free venue, just stick the windows up and lock as normal

Anything else press and hold the hood button for 12 seconds.

Nearly always hood up when parking - if not, e.g. paying for petrol, then side windows up. Helps to have the one touch option, then you can put the hood up as you come into park - saves hanging around for another 12s!

Aircon off. Very rarely, cold air into footwell. Otherwise, keep the top up and aircon on (eh.., wot d'you buy a roadster for Andrew?). Or you could always wait for cooler weather...[:D]

Personally I just leave the climate control on in auto mode at a steady 20 degrees. While moving you've got the air to cool you and the air-con to keep you cool when stationary. Despite my concerns that the climate would try to air condition the world with top down [:D] it works very nicely - about half fan speed in the current lovely weather.

p.s. I think the 'turn the compressor off when not needed' spiel in the manual is to make Porsche look eco friendly. [;)]
