Summer refurb.........but will I sell it???

So I've had all the problems with my car ironed out over the last good few months between warranty and goodwill at Porsche so in essence it hadn't cost me a bean to fix and it's now running like a dream, so thought I'd spend some of my own money on it for a change, so in the last few months I've had the car serviced at Glasgow OPC, put in an MP3 gateway to work properly with my PCM and the multi-function steering wheel, the shiny wheels refurbed by OPC along with new wheel centres to top it off, a new carbon handbrake and gear lever, and it's getting a black painted centre console, new painted front splitter when it's going in for the usual front respray as it's had enough of looking likeing a spotty teenager for the last 6 months!!

I had Porsche Glasgow's 911 C2S cab for the weekend and what a beauty of a weekend to get it. A C2S may I add so I thought it wouldn't be as much fun as my turbo....but I have to say I liked the PDK gearbox, didn't try launch control which I should have, the sports exhaust sound with the roof down was pretty fun but the petrol guage suffered I reckon for it even though it said I was getting 22mpg in town and 28mpg on the motorway and I loved the smell of a new car. The kids seats didn't fit as well in the back, not surw why, so I reckon proper Porsche seats are needed for Gen 2 cars or maybe it's just cabs, but the boys enjoyed the roof down a few times anyway, and of course Fraser could sleep on a knife edge when he's tired so hey he was pretty happy!! For old dad, the comfort spec seats were a nice touch when you're getting old like me, but tbh at 94k I don't think it was good value for money against my current car (50kish) or a few club cars(30-100k). My finances can't push me to get a 997 GT3RS to add to the party, well I don't think so anyway, and on top I can't be bothered insuring two cars with road tax doubled, and double running costs...been there, done that and it's too much hassle for me right now!! I'm in LDN all week so I'm really not doing much miles, and it's now only showing 51k on the clock. The most I get out is on club days or track days now.

So my question is........do I sell it or keep the turbo? What else has this much fun, the badge, and looks the part with a dealer on my doorstep for help when it does all go wrong?

I don't have a garage so don't think I can do the 2nd car routine right now anyway unless it's a bit special like a full track car kept at knockhill, and my free time I don't think is big enough for an SMRC car just yet, but tempted after a night out with Boydy a few weeks back as it sounds amazing in so many ways, but knowing me I'd want the full camper trailer to go with it and again just not that flush to do it the way I'd want it.

So any thoughts or will I just get back to work?

Kim I have ebay'd yer hat if you want it back? lol........Oh and bought some shiny new silver Porsche Luggage aswell.......couldn't help myself!!

Inky,

Give it to charity and take the bus! The planet will be better off for your sacrifice! ;O)

Racetrack, way to go. Blood, sweat , tears, money and if you are lucky 10-15 mins on track actualy racing.
You need a special mentality to cope with that, Boydy is special. [;)]

But will I sell it???

A big NO!!! Your car is lovely and you've no time to explore new avenues anyway, so until your circumstances change, stick to what you've got Inkyboy!

C u next week for another ear bashing!!![;)]
