Well not to long before the summer comes to an end[:(] which means it's time for the 911 to go to bed
for the winter, i will miss driving my car as it's been a good summer with some great meets over the year
i had a fantastic drive down to the Le Mans 24 didn't get the chance to go to the classic which i
have promised my self i will do in 2008.

So this weekend it;s off to my garage, dissconnect the batteries put the car in frist gear and on with the dust
cover sounds depressing doesn't it [:D][:D] bring on next summer can't wait for it already i will really miss
the 911 dam it.

I wouldn't rush to put it away just yet Pete, the last two summers have seen mild and sunny days into early November.

I known what you mean lets hope so, the thing is my garage is in Colchester and i live in Kelvedon about 7 miles
away it's been out side all summer pretty much and has had it share of rain falling on my car which i'm all ways
paranoid about i should get a good cover really.

I like to use my car all year round but it is inside when not in use and I do steamclean under it after winter and give it some more waxoyl.

Yep I am up for both these... Phil I will be bringing my 54 car to the Pre-73 event on a lorry where shall I park??

It's just a shell but the idea is as I have been talking about the resto with guys that are in the know it's hard with out the car there so I thought what the heck bring the car!!!!! so aleast it's there in front of them..

What companies are going??

Sportwagen?

Roger Bray?

any others?

Fred's done all the organising . . . .

There are no companies this year . . . . keeping it real simple, which is fair enough IMHO.

As for the lorry . . . can't see it being a problem, although probably not a good idea to park it on the tarmac'ed display area . . . just to the side should do the job . . . . Fred's your man (if you want to make 100%).

Phil

Oh when I say lorry ,it's not an artic so our ok this time..

Just my mates recovery lorry I can borrow for the day.

There are no companies this yea

Really? No one mentioned that before....... Does that mean I can't come?

PS - sorry to hijack the thread.

Peter, there is no reason to put the car away till they put salt on the road. There are always some fabulous autumn and winter mornings when there i no one else out.

I agree I have had some top drive in the winter in the new forest early winters morning with not a sole about....... driving along looking out for horses but looking at the sun rise cool stuff....it an't over till the fat lady sings [;)]

Early 911 does that mean Mark's not coming.. I wanted to talk with Mark Waring.. ref seat bases.....

I hope it don't rain on sunday other wise I am coming in the 912 cos the 356 is in primer.. not good in the rain I hope it don't rain I have got the lorry sorted for Sunday..

As far as I am aware, there are no traders, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be a problem if you (Nick or anyone else) wanted to set up stall. Fred's doing the orgainising on this one so it's down to him really.

Phil

Sorry got to vent my P*** off state... I had the lorry arranged and the weather was good I was up at 7am and could have tken the lorry but I was lead to believe there was no traders and so because of this I didn't bring my 54 356.

So imagin my anger when I pulled in to see, not just one or two BUT ALL!!!!! the traders I thought that were not comming. There in front of me.... Got to say what a *****up really angry about this.

The one perfect time I could have put my 54 project in front of the countrys leading resoration experts for some tips and hits and the information was a let down.. Why oh why do I still bother with this club!!!!!!!!

roll on Oz

Sorry you're so angry Mark . . . [:(]

When the idea was orginally floated some time back, there was talk of no traders . . . . obvioulsy things changed . . . . like I've said throughout my posts, Fred's done all the organising.

Obviously your 'P*** off' and '*****up' and angry because of me. I'm happy for you to vent this anger at me . . . . . I love it . . . I get it all the time . . . . . it makes me feel good . . . . . thanks Mark.

Despite Marks remarks . . . . I understand that it was a pretty good event, well supported with good weather.

Here's to next year.

Regards
Phil

Mark,

I've no doubt we'll be meeting on the 8th October on the Le Touquet Trophey run (that's if you're coming - which you've said you are). I just wanted you (and anyone else) to know that this counts as a holiday for me so really want to avoid getting into discussions about the virtues of DDK over PCGB and how PCGB is so bad. I been there before and it's boring me to the point where I'm looking to 'retire'.

No doubt you'll take this as fuel for the fire . . . . frankly my dear, I don't care.

Cheers
Phil

Phil I am not...... I just want to forget it and move on... I have no idea what was going on last week with it all. I am not one of the organisers but something happened ....poss political

The PCGB DDK thing was not a part of the issue ( to me any way I have just rejoined PCGB ) or so I am aware ( see note above if that is the case then when I move out the UK I will not be missing anything will I ( taking cars with me ) ) Others have said to me it was political if that is the case then I will direct that towards the member in question ( not you ) with a fresh pasion to get this crap sorted once and for all. A club is NOT one member esp as all the new members leave because of this one person.....what benifit to a club is that.

It's because your a nice bloke and are just like me , enjoy our cars and that's all that I am doing something I have never done before and just letting it go..

I will see you at Le Touguet I am sure we will all have a great time. And I will be taking the pee out of you as usual [;)]

Forgoten about...... your one of the good guys.
