Sumped, need help please

At Auto2000 yesterday with R24 I took the opportunity to get it up on the car lift again because the oil leak I discussed in a different thread is worrying me as I am off to Holland in it in mid April.

The sump I thought was cracked and silicone/rubber sealed at the front offside corner (which I was going to have welded) is actually broken and the corner is missing [&:]

So.................I need a decent s/h sump. The nice people at Auto2000 gave me a few numbers but I thought I`d ask on here if there is one lying in a garage corner? I`m happy to pay but as yet I dont know how much they go for or if there are any around at all?

Suggestions on a postcard too...................................................me [;)]

Try Porsch-Apart (Simon Butterworth) if you don't have any luck elsewhere.
Cheers,

(Sorry, couldn't find a postcard so had to send electronically).

I think I may have one [&:]

I'm not entirely sure which sump my new engine is using - either my original Turbo sump, or the one from the donor engine (they may be the same - I dunno)

I'll email Jon and see

actually they probably are different because the Turbo one is baffled

either my original Turbo sump, or the one from the donor engine (they may be the same - I dunno)

Cheers Paul, look forward to anything you can do to help.

Regardless of its origin I`ll improve the baffles or if it doesnt have any I`ll take advice and baffle it [;)]

Can anyone tell me if the turbo sump is different in any way (I personally cannot see why it would be)

I will put out some feelers for a sump for you.

I think the Porsche Breakers should have some.. if they get a turbo in with a worn out engine, the sump will be retained.

All the best

Update,
Douglas valley have a sump £79 + vat + carriage []
I need to confirm please that the correct sump has a sender on the opposite side from the pick up pipe next to the drain plug?
Scott from DV was unsure when I asked so he went out and looked at a two engines, one did not have this and the other one did. he ststes that it is a turbo engine BUT........................
Is the oil LEVEL sender this close to the sump drain? Seems unlikely to me. I`ve tried to find piccies on the web but cannot.
Also do I need to be careful in buying a sump ie: is the 220 bhp or pre 88.5 etc to be avoided or are they the same in baffling and sender.
Please confirm asap if y`all can as I can catch tomorrows courier if I let him know asap
Thanks in advance
Paul

Price-wise that's about what I expected - I looked into replacing mine after I holed it, but in the end got it welded up.

Sump arrived

(BTW thanks Paul (and John) but I got one from Douglas Valley, mind you I had to inform them that there are different types.

Anyway for those that are interested in a turbo sump I cleaned it up and took a coupla piccies.........
