Just to let you guys know.. the car seemed fine after i hosed the mud that had coated (mostly one side) the brakes and wheels, was probably messing with the balance and why it was awful 'bumpy' - nursed it home anyway and will be booking it in for an early service and a once over! Only damage I can find is a couple of small scratches on the bottom of the front bumper and a lost front number plate! I think I escaped rather lucky !

yea, i aquaplaned into the central reserve on the M74 at about 70mph.. stupid really, shouldn't have been going that fast, was too wet, but luckily no serious damage was done! i thought i done a 360, but thinking on it now i can't really remember, happened pretty quickly!

Wow, Lucky escape then! You have a Cayman as well I see. Curious as to how much tread you have on your tyres?

Yea, they're not too bad, still well within in the limit... was chucking it down quite heavily on the way to Moffat on the windy roads, didn't lose grip once and was going faster! ah well, at least nothing serious happened and no-one else involved! The car drove normally once i'd got the mud off the wheels and brakes, so hopefully there's nothing lurking beneath the surface!

Good to hear you are ok Tony, I headed up the old road A74 rather than the Motorway as I was going to Abbington for fuel so I missed your drama. Michael called me to let me know and we waited a short while at Abbington Services thinking you would come off there to check over your car.

Alan.

Ah sorry about that! Aye I was going to but, driving at 40mph on the motorway, once I came off at the next opportunity, i noticed that below 35mph the car was fine, must have dislodged some of the mud on the motorway! So I just stayed off the motorway and held up lots of traffic doing 30 most of the way home! Probably should have tried to wash it at the services but I just wanted to get home after that!

Good to hear you got up the road ok T , not the best way to end the day after all that careful driving on the run [:D] you must have got a hell of a fright I did and I was behind you ! Hope theres not too much damage to put right underneath , just show what can happen in an instant. could have been anyone of us .
Michael
