Sun roof: broken hinge in wind deflector

The right hinge of my sun roof wind deflector broke down...

Now I am thinking if I should just change it or the whole wind deflector mechanism (with springs etc.)

There reason is that whenever I would open the roof it was always very noisy (from the coming wind) in the car practically at all speeds. My feeling was that the deflector did not turn up high enough..
I need an advice... Is it a "feature" of every 993 to have this wind noice coming at virtually every speed or do I really have an issue with wind deflector?

Andrew

Thanks Maurice,
I also heard that resonance at the same speed, but the noice was really much bigger that what one usually hears from the open sun roof at all speeds...
I think I will change the whole thing... One more question before that...
Can you tell me what is the approximate angle that the deflector of your car is taking when turned up?

Cheers,

I have a very effective and vitrually cost free fix for this; ear plugs.[:D]
Seriously though, if youre in the UK it has been seriously windy for months as weve had all that crap weather and its crosswinds that have been causing the wind roar. Ive noticed that since the sun came out over the last 2 days the wind noise on my targa is as Maurice said; negligible unless youre caning it.
