Sun Roof Headlining Trim

Anyone know how to remove the trimmed panel that forms the headlining on the underside of the sun roof?
The material had sagged on mine to the extent that the roof wouldn't open fully and it has now become so detached, that I have had to remove it. I managed to pull it away gently from whatever system was holding it in place without tearing it. Unfortunately the panel now rattles, so I need to recover it sooner rather than later.

There are some spring clips which are now exposed along the front edge of the panel. If I remove these will the panel slide away, or do I need to remove the roof panel complete and then dismantle the assembly?

Any help will be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Bob

Funnily enough, exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I didn't pull the material as I was worried about ripping it.

Its going in to JZ Machtech at the w/end for the annual service so I will get them to deal with it, but if you get a response before then and I can do it myself, it might save me a few £££ [;)]

look on Rennlist, theres plenty of info, including some I've added to, its an easy job, if the headlining has enough material left, it can get frayed on the top, and then you haven't got enough to pull round again.

IIRC sunroof back two inches, pull down on front and slide forward, theres about 4/5 clips that hold the metal parts together.

Thought I'd update this...

Sure enough clips across lower front of headlining trim panel are all that is holding it to the sunroof itself. Clips are exposed by unpeeling the material away from the front edge.
However panel can only be removed by removing all the screws around the sunroof from above, with the sunfoof opened about 75%.
Then by lifting the roof assy by a couple of inches the panel can be slid forward and out of it channels.

Looks like an easy recover if I can obtain a new material part.

Bob.
