SUN ROOF OPERATION

I have just had my sunroof repaired by a specilaist. The drive gear had broken so its had a new drive box thingy. Before it broke you used to press the button, keep your finger on the button until the motor stopped and the roof was wide open and the same for shutting. I am now finding that the motor keeps running with my finger still on the button as I dont know when to take it off, it is hard to tell when the roof is shut or open. I sometimes get out the car to find it not quite shut properly. As it shut or opens when it reaches it limit you can hear the motor stressed. I had read somewhere that there are limit switches. My specialsist says there are no limit switches. All I know is its not the same as is was.
Any thoughts or experiances.

Hi Sector,

no experience but I'm happy to take a look at mine if you get no useful replies. If you have any pics of the gearbox in place, I can look at mine and see if there are any differences.

I guess access is through the zipper at the back of the roof?

Regards
GR

It looks exactly the same as the old one and as pics ive seen, wondered if there were adjustable limits within the gear housing.
